Upgrading My Website For 2024

Can you say stressing? Yes, stressing. I am working on updating my website for 2024, and it’s giving me the feels. I am experimenting new themes and features, and geez it is quite a rush. Being a web developer for over 15 years, I am not easily satisfied for myself, as I usually keep a theme for 3 years and then update, so this new push is a big decision. With all the new pricing formats for WordPress, it’s an investment. The glory days of FREE themes, and unlimited free themes are all gone. The free version of WordPress is over, well unless you are trying to stay really simple. So as time passes by, 2024 is almost here.

Are you updating your site for 2024?

    1. 🙂 thanks… are you into changing up theme now on then on your site?

  1. Just finished updating my site last week. It’s definitely a stressful process mostly because I’m not a fan of the themes that are currently being offered. Hope all goes well with your update.

    1. That’s pretty dope, I love it, I like a little challenge. I saw yours, as I was literally about to pick the same one. It’s hard to find a simple white background such mines and yours, that have a nice elegant look with a clean side bar and footer option. Like I feel WordPress knows this but push all these weird looking themes that doesn’t make the content flow. But I am trying I saw (2) that looks like they may work, but got to try and see.

  2. Just finished updating mine for 2024, it’s been the highlight of 2023! 🙂

    1. That’s awesome actually. It’s on of those things we got to jump in to make sure the lights stay on. 🙂

      1. Totally! I just wish I had done it sooner!

  3. We are working on updating our site. Having trouble finding a theme we like. Closest we found is the 2011. Hopefully we will have a theme picked out by the end of the month. Then we will work on updating logo, banner and so on.

    1. It’s the constant battle I am not going to lie. It’s one of the biggest decision. I love the 2012, it’s just some of the features are not for right now, and after every 2-3 years it’s good to have a refresh. I been looking into new themes too. They use to have them laid out some much better than they do now. Best bet I have tried was go to the discover page, reader, go to popular section, and tab like 20 sites of post that seems engaging and active and check out other blogs/website for inspiration and do the demo test as you can always revert back with everything intact. But also keep in mind it okay to have the same as a friends or someone you know personally, I know we all trying to be different, but there is just so many themes out there that matches out content and style, so not letting that hold you back. I had to re encourage myself with that same talk to take action.

      1. Thanks for the heads up on the demo test

    2. I wish you luck and success on the new theme 😁👍🏽
