Memories of My Past Flame…Still Burning!

Posted on October 2, 2011October 3, 2011 by Jixi Fox
The Future of What
Image via Wikipedia

‎”Memories of My Past Flame…reflect, remembrance, restraint, resistance, release…we try to go forward from the past, but end up going nowhere in the future…”

We all want to go back but sometimes we need to let go of the past and think the new future, the brand new you, the new possibilities of how you can grow, instead of fall over the past fails, or discomfort trying to make it wonderful again.

It’s Jixi…

Nobody’s Perfect – Jixi Fox – [#Poetry]

Jixi-Fox-Poetry-Tuesday-Series

Everyday we steadily walk along these thin lines,
Lines that divides what’s good from bad, or just fine,
As kids we hunt for the truth with our rebellious ways,
Our parents try to curb our appetite leading us on a path they have paved,

Through their mistakes our lives seems pre determined to avoid certain fates,
But no matter what we avoid there are mistakes we still tend to create,
Some of their mistake we can’t avoid and tragically we repeat,
For their voices were heard too late or very un-educatedly to us they speak,

We live our lives based on stereotypes we lazily try not to break,
We hold onto fixed morals and strategies believing through them a better life we will make,
Go to college, eat your veggies, pray to God, and commit no sins,
Always wear a condom, don’t do drugs, go hard or go home for the win,

Nobody is perfect we can only try our best with what we have got,
We breakdown to build up and we must do with what we have got,
There is no exact formula to follow, solution to drink, or tune to sing,
We just got to find what works for us, and use the power to overcome from within.

This Poem was inspired by the song, Nobody’s Perfect by J Cole and Missy Elliot

(*Note (backstory)): Nobody’s perfect, we live life through trial and error and even when we find a great path, death still lingers over our heads as a sure thing.  So we make mistakes, we learn and we break trends the best we can and live life everyday and be thankful for what we have got.)

By default you are the apple of my eye,
By default you are the only one that will ever see me cry,
Be default you are the only one that I could ever love,
The one that I am always thinking and dreaming of,

By default its only your lips that I crave,
By default your lips are what keeps me calm and safe everyday,
By default you are the one that’s better than the rest,
Just the love I deserve and I could never ever resist,

By default it’s memories of you that makes me reminisce,
By default no cloudy days but sunny ones that shall ever exist,
By default I can love more, and give to you my heart,
For it stays a whole in your hands and shall never break apart,

By default my life with you will definitely be a blessing,
By default on your chest is where I lay my head when resting,
By default loving you brings more joy than tears or sorrow,
These are the vows I can live with yesterday, today and tomorrow.

(*Note (backstory)): Think of your true love as your default setting, the person you will always reset and they will always be there.  We all don’t make it work the first time around, or the second or third, but when you know true love to be real, it will always be there, whether start or finish.)

Broken Window – Jixi Fox – [#Poetry]

Looking through this window

I can see the streets,

People hustling, lying and stealing

Just trying to eat,

Waiting for God to open up

And take them under his wings,

But its hard to live in a world

Surrounded by sin,

I just grin, when I saw this lil’ kid

Gave this girl a kiss,

It reminds me of a caring life

That I once missed,

Things all around us

Might get us pissed,

There is so much to be done

All we need is a solution so we can fix…THIS!!!

I Fear To Commit – Jixi Fox – [#Poetry]

I fly away in fear of the feeling,
That brings tears to eyes to cry,
Though is seems I may be ducking and weaving,
It’s simply a choice to not experience the feeling,

We all have options we tend to not explore,
And there is always someone trying to close your open doors,
Some by choice by having thoughts to trap,
Others just want to make you feel bad for being yourself and relapse,

Efforts and timing can change our ways and decisions,
But now a days everyone wants to claim a title or position,
It’s not like it’s a wrong thing, though maybe only not right for you,
Why take down someone trying to fly because of your selfish mood,

Trying to create friction to your world in which I was keeping from existing,
Bring pains to your days where there were  sun days that kept your mood uplifting,
I can’t commit I wish you could see what it will do to me,
Killing my soul, my creativity, my life and soon yours in time, is just how you want it to be.

FIN

(*note: You can’t force me to be what I really don’t want to, it’s only going to make resent in you long run and make your days gray as payback for what you have done to me.)

Fake Friends Around – Jixi Fox – [#Poetry]

Posted on August 9, 2011August 16, 2011 by Jixi Fox
Friends at Columbia University.
Image via Wikipedia

If you can’t be real with me than who are you real with?

A fake friend is in my mist but I try my hardest to resist,

The urge that’s aching me to call them out and put an end to this friend,

Or maybe to this friendship since its filled with fakeness from this fake ass friend,

It’s just so petty when your friends claim to be real but they aint,

It’s like calling a simple hangout one hell of a date,  in which it wasn’t so it just ain’t,

People are in clear sight with disguises on thinking that they are blending in,

How stupid do you think I am, you are fake, it’s simply just what it is,

I hate the lies and phony cries of hype you throw along my way,

It’s just sad and disgusting, why can’t you just be happy in other words be gay,

Or maybe you are, but not near but from a far in a closet you locked yourself in,

You don’t want to come out, simply in denial being someone you really cant be honest with,

Damn it I hate when a friend just can’t be true, I guess they just want to be fake,

So don’t you mind my finger floating on by, trust me its coming your way, I am pointing at you.

FIN

(*note: To all my fake friends sitting by my side, I really don’t see why you claim you ride with me, just go the other way and say goodbye, you don’t owe me anything, so just go be your fake self in some other element.)

Thin Lines [#Poetry]

Posted on August 2, 2011August 16, 2011 by Jixi Fox

thin_line

Some days we walk the walk,
Other days we talk the talk,
We try to reason with life,
We want what we want,

We sit on benches looking out at the park,
We read books into the late night until its dark,
Some things we can choose and others we can’t,
The things we can’t get or understand we sit and we rant,

There is a thin line between good and bad,
There is a thin line between what we can do and what we can’t,
We dream of the joys of this world day after day,
We stay along the thin lines and watch life go by play after play.
