Craving Dance | Haiku | Poetry

Posted on January 22, 2025January 22, 2025 by Jixi Fox

Most days I let loose, and while I feel the groove, the melody has me tipsy, allowing me to crash out on the dance floor. So I hold on for dear life, like life has all the power to keep me up, when I really want to get down with my bad self and show off into the night. Tomorrow may be another episode of what did I do last night? For which, your friends will always have pictures. 🙂

HAIKU

Waves seduce the shore,
Lick the edges, bite the sand,
Moonlight pulls them close.

Just A Touch

Posted on January 21, 2025January 21, 2025 by Jixi Fox

With a touch of grace, I am taking my time. The world is changing; it’s been trying to reach me on my line. I don’t know what to do most days, but I stay on my grind. I own my decisions because I know they are mine.

MLK DAY – How To Live With A Purpose

Posted on January 20, 2025January 20, 2025 by Jixi Fox

It’s stay to say, today was a heck of a day in the United States. But the power statement of today should be, how to live with a purpose and what is your purpose. Today is a key day to work on figuring out, who you are, what is it you are on earth to do.

Many people everyday is led a stray, brain washed, confused, lied to and even worse, entertained with so much distraction that they can not pursue the goals or missions they set forth for themselves.

Regain your purpose, your passion, and move forward making every action intentional to a goal or result.

Insert The Gems | Micro Poem

Posted on January 17, 2025 by Jixi Fox

I have been bending waves for days, kool aid colors I could never catch a fade. I raid and a rebel, but never going to jail. I am free to be me, while I let go, others inhale.

You can take back the lost promises to self.

How To Be A Boss | Free Verse Poetry

Posted on January 17, 2025January 17, 2025 by Jixi Fox

On the eve of hitting 900 days of posting on my blog, I celebrate with this free verse poem for the night. I had a great conversation with my friend James that inspired this poem. Based on our talk about life and being our authentic selves, the words just flowed through me on the way to pick up sushi to eat and enjoy anime night at home. I hope you can enjoy and catch some of the amazing metaphors and witty lines.

Free Verse Poem: How To Be A Boss

I am catching misdemeanor charges,
For corrupting all the bosses,
Tallying up all the wins,
While deducting all the losses,
Hitting play after all the pauses,
New York City stay be, freaking awesome.

People be wilding out,
For the salads they be tossing,
It causes a ruckus,
Like wild and crazy kids, let loose on recess.

But still, we stay ready,
Stacked and prepped like late-night pizza orders,
Carving dreams from concrete, crossing invisible borders.
And if the noise gets loud,
Watch your mouth,
I can get petty,
Close your eyes,
Having you drift off to sleep,
Right beside your Teddy.

We’re the heartbeat of chaos, the rhythm of the grind,
Breaking rules to find truths others left behind.
No city compares, no space feels this electric,
We’re the charge in the storm, unapologetically kinetic.

Begging Me To Grow | Life Goals | Spoken Word Poetry

Posted on January 16, 2025January 17, 2025 by Jixi Fox

Lowkey I had to style on em,
They couldn’t match the status,
They were mad,
So I had a chance to break,
Breaking the norms,
It did what I had to do.
To make sure,
Time was used well,
To fill my bucket,
I was always at the well.

The Best Ripple Effects In Life | Haiku | Poetry

Posted on January 15, 2025January 15, 2025 by Jixi Fox

In life, there are things we do that cause a ripple effect. There can be good results and bad results. But until you try, you won’t know. We dream of only positive outcomes, but we know sometimes destiny has a different calling.

HAIKU

Tiny steps echo,
Big effect on winds unseen,
Dreams walk away free.

*Let me know your thoughts on the poem in the comments!

What is something you have done that created a ripple effect?

Thanks for reading,
