I would like to wish everyone a happy new year. My post will be short and to the point. I want the best for you all. Continue doing the things that are working and be open to changing the things that are not. We can’t all take over the world, and we can only control the controllables. As individuals, we can DREAM BIG, so never stop that.
Spread the love, the passion, and the gift of a smile to someone if you can each day. But make sure it starts with you.
Wow, the countdown is real. The anticipation of a new year. The build-up is so wild. The conversations I shared, the people I met, the photos I took and didn’t take—the list is huge. All of this was happening, and I was happy. I mean, I had some bad days, trust me.
THE BAD DAYS
I always lost my vision; I almost lost a leg. But I am happy for my vision and ability to walk. 2023 was so real, as it really lost a lot of people. I saw a lot of people suffering. I saw a lot of people blocking their own blessings. I was so confused, but I could understand that life is tough.
The Good Days
The 5-6 soccer games I went to were an amazing feeling; to the highly focused bonding time I had with my brother and mother made the good shine a bit brighter. The simple things were the biggest part of 2023. Oh man, I was tested, but I stuck it out according to the plan I had. I had to be present—more present than I have ever been—and supportive. I was really challenged. I like a good challenge, but this was hard but rewarding. I don’t know if people can be happy with that. Oh yea, I blogged and wrote on my website the entire year, like every day. I know it’s not the 31st yet, but in a calendar year, 365 days. Completed. It’s now legendary; it took 12–13 years to complete, but look at God. wow.

The Milestones
I broke some records this year and started some very important new habits. I have a whole post for this. Click here.
A short version of milestones: – Invested into Stock more – Planned a few vacations – Celebrated myself more instead of just saying I knew I could do it. I did it, and respected that I really done it well for myself. – Posted 365 days on my blog. – Passed “515 days” writing. – Hit my Fitness Goal on my Apple Watch for “583 Days” straight. The biggest streak of my life.
Conclusion
2023 was tough, but I hang on in there. As the world was spinning out of control, I held my ground. I could pretty up words more, but I don’t want or need to. I made the best of every little grain I was given.
Let me know your thoughts. What words stood out for you in 2023?

I figured I would keep it short and just enjoy the last few days before we blast off into the new year.
As the days go by, I float away, I pray, To see a brighter day, So I can play, With my family and friends, As the days go by, I will did it over and over again.
In such an amazing, Lazy feeling, Dealing with so much, I can’t ask for everything, But getting nothing, Oh well, Making a statement, Of love, Than hate, Amen.
It was the friday before Christmas, People are at work earning, People in the staircase burning, Others are yearning for a gift, The gift they shall be blessed with, As the gift of life is to live.
OMG I was freaking out this morning. Like I was getting up early, doing that early morning thing—you know, the successful person wakes up at 5 a.m., starts their day, and gets the hard tasks done first thing. Yup, that thing. I did it. For which I realized I have way too many damn bottles. It blew my mind.
HOW WE GOT HERE
Well, I am into fitness, so I need a water bottle. I hate to have too many plastic water bottles, so I brought reusable ones. Then, of course, I work at a company, or anywhere I go, you obtain more water bottles. I seem to not like replacing them, then BAM, a whole lot of water bottles. Water is my favorite drink of all time. I have it with everything. I really do, so to promote my water intake, I need water readily available at every key point of my day and life. So that’s work, home, on the go, and more.
LACK OF DISCIPLINE
Okay, I am not beating myself up overall about these stupid water bottles. But I am a minimalist person at heart. As I try to improve my minimalism mastery, that’s why I am writing this post today.
BREAKING THE HABIT
Just recently, I banned myself from Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, and Panera. I cancelled my Panera Bread Sips Unlimited subscription, which I may get back, because it’s a good deal for the cost to be more mindful of money leaving my pocket.
I know living in New York City or any major city, the hustle and moving around can get you going crazy, so we buy on the go. Well, I stopped it. I am working on pre-planning more, like I used to slow down my life and spend time and effort to effect my cost, health, and smoothness of life.
I SAW IT COMING
The crazy part about it all is that I saw it coming. I started with one. I was like, “Hey Jixi, don’t get another one.” I felt the happiness of good-flowing water and just saw another amazing new color bottle, then yup, got a new bottle. Then, after being 5 bottles in, HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM!
IN CONCLUSION
We are not perfect. We all have something we have less discipline about than others. But hey, I got a cool post out of this. And I will be working on my problem in public, not in private. :) I hope this post helps you look at things you have in abundance and think about how to simplify your life, donate, gift away, and more.
