I need to be on a each, with a drink in hand, feeling my feet sinking in sand, while listening to a band, and the wind on my cheeks like air from a fan.
Now that’s a special run on sentence, but it was worth every character.
How do you know when it’s time to unplug? What do you do to make it happen?
I have an awareness for change. I love to be in the moment. You have to take it easy. When I see things moving fast past my speed, I try to dial it down.
Music is my unplug gateway or a cool movie when I am at home. If I feel tense or too much things is required from me from others, the pressure bills up, I just stop and close all things. Phone, laptop, books, are all closed and I start over. It’s like a hard reset. So I can process things one by one. I would start to build back to a level of manageable.
So many post sitting waiting to pop their little heads out of my draft section. I can’t say I really paid attention much, but I may have be inspired to write something, got into it and never completed. I went in my WordPress draft section and found a few gems in there. I was like, “ummm I didn’t post this, and that one, I am pretty sure I shared this 2 years ago. [Checked my post 2 years ago], oh snap I never posted it. What in the world was I doing?”
Yup that was pretty much me today. So as the title clearly says, I have 166 Posts in draft mode. Maybe I have probably 95 solid posts that are done or almost do, but that’s still a high percentage of content.
As you would assume, I am going to have to post them. Not all at once, but I am always writing and to have that much on hold excluding things in my notebook, journal, phone and ipad, I got a lot on hold.
Go to you draft section, how many posts do you have in DRAFT currently? Share in the comments below.
Sunday has come and it’s time to reflect and refocus. I am so proud of myself this weekend. I set to level I needed to be on and matched it. I told myself to get some reading in, also a great workout, and also head to Trader Joe’s for food for the week. Well I am here to say it was all done. Three books done while cleaning and reorganizing, amazing Cauliflower Dinner and a killer upper body workout lifting about 140lbs on the bench. It’s not the max I can do, but it was the mission for the day and do at least 40 reps on that weight.
The audiobooks I went through today was:
The 12 Week Year – Brain P. Moran
Getting Things Done – David Allen
The 5 Second Rule – Mel Robbins
The focus of the books was to focus on productivity and time management. Time management I am excellent at, and putting priority to important things. Growth is important and practicing good techniques are key to success. With those two topics you can achieve more.
I use the Apple Watch and FitBit for my workouts, so if you want to follow and be friends, the screen name on fitbit is “jixifox”.
Update my book has arrived, “I Will Teach You To Be Rich” the workbook. I haven’t browsed through it yet, but this week I will.
As the day flows, and I am catching up on some reading and writing, it’s great to take in the Saturday chillness. I have been listening to a lot of podcast this week, and soon to be excited that a new book I bought should be arriving today.
It’s not like a fun book to read, but it’s fun for me. It’s a financial literacy book, as I try to keep up with my planning for the future and life.
If you ever get to really know me, you would know I suck at planning for myself in advance for vacations. Okay, I had to write out that phrase like that to fix it up and clarify. I am an excellent planner, but I don’t feel satisfied and fulfilled planning vacations in advance. I just go when I want to go, no matter the cost. I do actually care about the cost, but the anticipation of waiting so long, not knowing how things will be then when the times comes, makes me not want to plan. It’s not a fear, but a bad habit I have come to continue. I want to change, and I will change.
Bingo. A original reflective thought just came to me as I am free writing this thought post. With my theory of myself on vacations, it seems to correlate with my and investing as a habit. If I had to do something short term, I do quickly and fast, but I yet to apply these great skills to investing and vacation planning.
So realizing this, upon also knowing I need to sign up for some coaching and therapy sessions, I want to deep dive into the why for myself.
This Friday has been eye opening for me, as some delicious sushi is awaiting my lips, and a new bottle of wine. So having a very successful week of execution on a few plans not all, I am treating myself to a good meal (unplanned), and creating an action to hold myself accountable to future change. So all in all I am feeling good.
I have a follow up to this post, as to what vacation I need to plan. Also an update on investment talks for others who may need some guidance with talking about money and future planning.
