FREE VERSE FRIDAY

Who is this up in my crib,
Bearing gifts,
Hair white as snow,
Whom I really don’t know,
But with a smile on his face,
A large bag near by his waist,
Hey,
Chill,
Got a red coat on,
With a sweater underneath,
He is handing me something,
I don’t know if I rally want it,
He is screaming out ho ho ho,
I started looking around to see if he had brought a gang,
He said don’t worry little man,
I am Santa,
Still not knowing who he is,
I gave him a dap and dab,
Took my gifts and ran to the tv to open them.
Like a G would.

Carving through the raps,
From the trap,
Snapping on the gram,
With the fam,
Knowing I am the man,
With the plan,
I ran with the crew no scams,
I launched off in the paint,
Bringing the rock to the gate,
Open up,
I am coming in,
My weaponry is untouchable,
The skills list is long like this,
An immigrant with a dream of bliss,
To never be broke,
Coming for the throats of my doubters,
Oh boy the encounter with me will be epic,
Biopic already in the works,
Peep my credits,
I am stacking up,
My mother had the smarts,
My father had the charts,
Combined in to me,
The illest poet emcee,
From JA to NYC,
Jixi.

Breathtaking,
Take me away,
Ideas floating,
Around the room,
The windows,
My dream space,
I sit before to be cool,
I want to express my being,
Show you how I feel,
Locked inside is my sanity,
Wanting to let each thought fly,
Like butterflies,
For that tingle inside,
It’s not wrong,
But right,
Share,
Be here now,
In my dream state,
Everything is possible.

I tried to cook up a remedy,
But I didn’t know the recipe,
I tried to wipe the tears away,
But only stained the walls,
I wanted just an average life,
But got something far from it,
The options I have been given,
I can’t stand them,
I want to flip,
But hold a grip,
Conflicted in my sense of needs,
My reality bleeds on my paper,
No pen, just a pencil with lead,
Hope to erase the things I didn’t mean to say,
Where has life gone,
I have grown,
But still ain’t gone no where,
I will chase my dreams,
But I really need to take it head on straight,
Drink drink drink,
Until the bottle is empty,
If I fall asleep,
The closer I will be to my dreams,
Or hell.

UGLY SWEATER

Oh no no no,
It’s christmas time again,
I want to hang with my friends,
But the family is huddling,
We are going to exchange gifts,
Sing some carols and make things,
I was ready to run out in the winter weather,
Then grandma said,
Oh no no no,
Not without your brand new sweater.
That thing was ugly I can’t lie,
I rather rot inside and die,
I ain’t wearing that,
Just in time to end my ugly sweater rap.

I dab,
Left the house,
I dab,
Right from a mouse,
I dab to hail a cab,
I dab while mailing stamps,
I dab so well,
I do it all the time,
I dab to the left,
Then I dab to the right,
I dab to all the hot bars I spit,
I dab to gosh darn everything.

FREE VERSE FRIDAY

They said I was the chosen one,
To spit bars,
I left the planet for a while,
Got involved in a Star Wars,
I was comfortable and living,
Then all of a sudden I was sent on a mission,
Didn’t have to talent to win,
Didn’t let me non-talents win,
Never did I give in,
I had an entire planet under my chin,
They wasn’t near my eye sight,
I had to look down,
I saw I was the king,
I proudly wore my crown,
Now I roll around,
Town after town,
Looking to fight,
Ready to make things right,
The force has awaken,
In my down time it was steadily baking,
In an oven,
Until I blew out the glass,
Almost fell on my ass,
I went straight in a clash,
To make my name known,
No clones,
The real deal,
On top of everything I stayed,
My rightful home.

Working a 9 to 5,
Trying to survive,
Wishing I can afford life,
Feeling very deprived,
I wish I could ride,
Out to the city,
And chill,
Pockets empty,
Because there is nothing within,
I try to skim for some change,
But it’s a pain,
Going insane,
Work hard for nothing,
Feeling like a slave,
Trapped in a life style,
That’s always on the decline,
Bills always on rotation,
Keeping me from being free,
Like probation.
