If I toss the lay up, Just dunk it, Be like Shaq, Heck, Be like Tim Duncan.
Never running away from the tap in, I stay steady with the flow just rapping, Wrapping these burgers and giving out fries, Oh my lord, it’s quite a time to be alive.
I wasn’t a believer at first, But became well versed, When I escaped a path that was good, But certainly got worse, It felt like a curse, Living the life of bad mind, And the rat race, Working a 9-5, On full throttle, With no brakes,
These garbage ass distractions, The corrupted manipulation, More than just mere occasions, It’s everywhere, The world forcing us, To give in, Everyday, Day in and day out, Clouding our judgment, And worth, Birthing new norms, We never consented on,
Until we rip up these contracts, Being high off a little bit of contact, Of how freedom feels, Reading a book, Going for walks, Have real talks, With people that’s not mean, Paying off debts, Cashing higher checks, Investing into our dreams, Seeing a new baby laugh, Family dinners well planned, Is more reality than a dream,
How to believe is seeing the end goal, To believe is going tunnel vision, To the end zone, Touchdown, The essence of feeling free, You got to believe, Put the work in, Don’t stop, Until what they selling stay fake, But out of your face, All you see is what’s real, You happy, In control, With Memories, To celebrate with your team.
Believe, believe, and believe! You can be free and will be.
*Note: This poem was written as a straight free write. It came out exactly as expected. I love the message, and the delivery. I hope it inspires someone today. As I celebrate my annual freedom day, I am super proud of this piece.

I spent a long time chasing to be free, The only place I knew of being, Was being me, I have been tired, And been tired more of lying, That inside of me, Was slowing dying, Drying off, After I got rained on, I found a day, To stick my name on, I fought hard, And ran myself, Into the ground, To finally have the pride, To wear the damn crown.
There is no way, You did that, Took my heart, You took that, I wanted it back, But I look back, And see you, Love me, Just keep my heart, And I will keep yours.

You can’t swag, I am mad, Because, People tend to copy brands, Before it was pop, There was a meaning, Thrown on a hook, Create a book, Now everyone, Feel they made it.
I am entirely tired of liars, The outliers should be held to the sky, Like simba, For they will one day be king, But they are subtracted from the equation, Before the crown was placed, This is an ode to the slain warriors of cause.
She has a nice voice; I just can’t resist. I think get her out of my mind, especially her lips. I could dip and dive, but she is sorta of shy, I am the guy to get her to where she wants to, without her asking why.
FREE VERSE POETRY
Her essence has me wide open, With every word that was spoken, Wanting to be inside real bad, She told me I needed a token, Only the one she can give, A special token that makes a heart, filled, Ready to accept a thrill, But still knows how to be delicate, Even the sweet melody of her laugh, Makes missing a day feel like a year lost, Appreciating every moment, Every special occasion, I must press pause, And cherish time, Frozen looking at her.
