Shortly after she said my name, I knew. I truly knew I was going to be right about what I was thinking. The energy was there, the care and excitement was there. As I relax myself, I said to myself, I got this, I am going to make her day. I know for a smile is coming my way. I said to the beautiful nurse, “Hey, do you mind if I asked you a question?” She replied, “I don’t mind, what’s your question?”

I asked, “where are you from.” She replied I am from the bronx, my background is Jamaican. So I guess I am….” It was at the moment she smiled and happy for the compliment I shared earlier with the bit of humor before she stick me with the needle. I felt we had a connection and moment, for she doesn’t know as yet why I felt this way. We both had the same last name, and we were both….

This is just a tale that came out of my day of progress. It made my day, and I made someone’s day. A good laugh was shared, and today was a good day.
